This is a gorgeous, original, working, classic and rare Antique 1870’s-80’s Civil war era “SHIPS SIGNAL CANON – CAST IRON CANON with SOLID AGED WOOD BASE believed to be made in USA.
This is outstanding in construction, very primitive and very much original and complete. Measuring at 14 1/2″ in length x 7 1/4″ width x 5 3/4″ tall, this is a piece that has remained very well preserved and is stunning in person. The Canon is heavy and gorgeous cast iron, great cast iron chain loop at bottom of base. Wood has very age old feel and appearance. Great heavy weight to this as well. This has been looked at by professional and has put it right at civil war era, fantastic piece of Maritime history.
