Does not have any identifying stamps, seals or classifying markings
Sports the 3 most common identifying marks of a true canon ball:
–Bulging equatorial ring
–Circular mark along ring where molten iron entered mold
–Identation 90 degrees from midline ring (In this case both top and bottom)
Found in Sharpsburg, MD, Sight of the Civil War’s Battle of Antietam by metal detector
I would like to remind potential buyers that I AM NOT a Civil War historian or munitions expert and I am selling
the ball as-is and am not accepting returns without good reason. After being told of the item’s providence I did work hard to identify the object, asked others who
