This is a 3-D printed piece with better than original battery contacts that have been epoxied and heat-staked securely.
While the material is not ABS like the original was, rest assured, it is
just as durable.
if not better.
These parts have been produced by HP’s revolutionary $100K+ Jet Fusion technology.
It is simply unmatched by anything in the rapid prototyping universe.
Battery polarity indicators have been molded into the piece as well just like the original.
And you may find that the cover may warp slightly after installation; and this is perfectly normal.
Care must be used when replacing the batteries. The screws in the back of the Rockman must be loosened to free the cover.
You
cannot
use a quarter or a screw-driver to pry the cover from the unit or else it will break and it will not work anymore.
This is also true with the original and aftermarket ABS pieces.
